Born 3 1/2 months premature and weighs 1.5 lbs -- The first embrace with his mother is so touching!

A baby is considered to be "premature" if it is born before 37 weeks of gestation and in Ward's case (this is the baby's name) he was born almost four months premature which is only about 23 weeks of gestation! Therefore, his chances of survival would have been one in a million had it not been for the miracle of modern medical science! 

In fact, the tiny baby weighed only a pound at birth and spent the first 107 days of his life in a Neonatal Intensive Care unit. Nevertheless, his parents never once lost hope and surrounded Ward with all the care, love, and affection that was possible. The result? Here we see Ward a year after his birth ...
