A delicious Cherry Clafoutis recipe!
Clafoutis is a traditional dessert originating with French farmers and owes its goodness to the simplicity of preparation and the quality of the ingredients, which are offered seasonally from the local fields.
The classic recipe involves the use of cherries, but it can be prepared using a wide variety of fruits. This is a sweet that should not be missing from the cookbook of those who appreciate simple and genuine flavors to be proposed as a dessert at the end of a fine meal.
True goodness is in the simple things, and I will prove it with this recipe! Here are all the necessary ingredients:
- 600 g of fresh cherries
- 30g of butter, plus what you need for greasing the pan
- 4 eggs
- 100 g of flour
- 100 g of sugar
- 240 ml of milk
- vanilla and almond extract ( optional)
- Powdered (icing) sugar
Start by pitting the cherries. Be careful not to forget even one cherry pit -- it could be a very unpleasant surprise for someone eating your dessert!
Grease the bottom and sides of a baking pan with butter and then sprinkle sugar into the baking pan making sure it adheres evenly to the butter.
Fill the baking pan with the pitted cherries.
In a separate bowl, break the eggs and add the sugar. Beat with a whisk until foamy.
Add the flour a little at a time, continuing to stir to avoid the formation of lumps.
Once you have mixed in all the flour, add, if you wish, a few drops of vanilla and almond extract. Then pour in the milk and melted butter. Stir well to combine the ingredients.
It can be said that your dessert is almost ready! Now, just pour the cream on the cherries, covering them almost completely and bake at 180 ° C for 40-45 minutes.
The result is totally irresistible! Remember, we told you that simplicity was the strong point of this dessert!
