All the staff at the Atlanta zoo had goosebumps due to the intense anticipation! The sweet 15-year-old giant female panda bear named Lun Lun had finally arrived at the end of her pregnancy and to monitor the childbirth, a camera had been installed inside her enclosure.

At exactly 6:21 am on 15 July 2013, Lun Lun gave birth to Mei Lun, but then only a few minutes later something that was totally unexpected happened! Yes, out pops a second panda bear cub, Mei Huan!

In 2013, no giant panda bear had ever been born in the USA and what is more, since 1987 the world had not seen a giant panda bear give birth to twins!
